Current Goals
Our focus is on serving older adults well while continuing to grow and support the volunteer community that makes our programs possible. Through our core programming, we aim to serve approximately 600 older adults each year. We currently engage 516 active volunteers and plan to add an average of 14 new volunteers per month, creating roughly 15 new volunteer–participant matches monthly. We are working to better manage demand for services by improving how we respond to unsolicited requests and how we communicate with older adults who are on our waitlist. We are also building relationships with new community partners, including Somali community groups, to ensure our programs remain welcoming and accessible to a broader range of older adults. Behind the scenes, we are focused on freeing up capacity and improving how our programs operate. A program efficiency committee has been formed to identify practical changes that reduce bottlenecks and support sustainable growth. Advisory committees are being established for offsite programs, starting with Let’s Do Lunch, to strengthen feedback and program design. Volunteer retention and appreciation remain priorities, with a personalized appreciation campaign and clearer volunteer support roles launching this year.
